My mom never came home

One day, my mom left for work as usual. However, the problem is she never came back. I tried looking for her. I went to her office, I asked around. None of my friends, family, neighbors, nor her colleagues seem to know where she is. They acted as if I was crazy, saying that they never knew my mother, Naomi Li. How could that be possible? My mom was a renowned academic, she'd made countless contributions to the academia and now, they're acting like she doesn't exist? There's definitely something wrong.
